About SSB

Professional bookkeeping services

I offer simple and straightforward virtual bookkeeping for your small business. Based in Gainesville, Florida, I work from my home office, overseeing your books to ensure they’re organized and accurate and leveraging software integration to provide you with the data to drive your business to the next level.

For many small business owners, staying on top of bookkeeping, untangling old books to get the data you need, or even starting your books for the first time can be challenging. With so many options and so much information available, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. That’s why I created Smart Sync Bookkeeping, where small and micro business owners can feel at ease letting us handle their bookkeeping needs so they can do more of what they started their business to do.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a bookkeeper help small businesses?

Bookkeeping is a crucial tool for small businesses. It provides a clear financial picture, allowing owners to track income, expenses, and profitability. By maintaining accurate records, businesses can identify areas for cost-cutting, make informed decisions about investments, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

When does my business need an outside bookkeeper?

Small businesses should consider hiring a bookkeeper when their financial needs become too complex to handle in-house. This often occurs when the business starts to grow, leading to increased transactions, more complicated tax filings, and a need for specialized financial knowledge. If a business owner finds themselves spending a significant amount of time on bookkeeping tasks that are distracting them from running the core operations, it’s a good indicator that professional help is needed.

What should I expect from a bookkeeper relationship?

Small business owners should expect a professional and collaborative relationship with their bookkeeper. A bookkeeper should be able to provide clear and concise financial reports, be responsive to the business owner’s needs, and provide organized financial reports to the business’s CPA for tax filings. Communication is key on both siides of the bookkeeping relationship. It’s important that the bookkeeper is easy to reach and willing to answer questions. Likewise, it is important that the business owner provide any receipts or information needed by the bookkeeper to ensure accurate reporting of expenses.
